Latest News: Proposed Intermediate School Zoning Change
Information Updated 2/5/2010

Urgent Matter

·

Attention all Huntwick residents!  The Klein ISD Board of Trustees will be voting on

intermediate school zoning this Tuesday night February 9th at 7:00PM at the Klein Administration Building located at 7200 Spring Cypress Rd in the Board Room.  This vote could potentially affect ALL HUNTWICK residents regardless of which school district you live in.  The Adminstration is not only suggesting that our Klein residents remain at Wunderlich Intermediate, but they are now proposing a move from Mittelstadt Elementary, our school of 19 years, to Greenwood Forest.  This move will not be positive for our Klein families and could cause all of our property values to take a hit.  Our families have an established community at Mittedlstadt, which is an Exemplary school, and they will not desire a move to an elementary school almost twice the distance away across a major artery of traffic.

What can you do?

·

We are asking all Huntwick residents to attend the meeting this Tuesday, February 9th

to show your support for our Klein Families.  Our state representative, Patricia Harless, has shown her support for our request to attend Kleb Intermediate by sending a letter to the school Board.  She will be in attendance at the meeting as well and needs LARGE NUMBERS to fill up the Board room and show our support. This zoning process has been a difficult process for our Klein families and they need the entire neighborhood to back them up.  Please tell all your neighbors and friends to come out and show your support.

Send an email to the Klein ISD Board Members
You can send your board members an email.  Please remember the following items:

·

Make sure that you identify yourself by name and address,

·

Let them know that you want a Preferred Draft up for vote by the Board of Trustees

that allows the ENTIRE Mittlestadt Community to attend Kleb Intermediate.

·

Greenwood Forest is not an option for this community-performance is not the same as

our neighborhood school of 19 years and is almost twice the distance from our homes. You can also mention to your Board Members that Mittelstadt and many neighboring schools are WELL below capacity.  Such a move clearly does not make sense for us!

·

The transition from elementary to intermediate at formative years is far more valuable

to than a pure feeder pattern.
