Huntwick Women's Club
Monthly meeting at Huntwick Clubhouse. We shall start, as usual, at 9:30 AM for our social half
hour.
PROGRAM: The Way We Plan to be Computer Savvy – (Plus Energized, Balanced, and Serene)
Cindy Whiteside will show us how to transfer photos from our digital camera to our computer - and
how to use them. Following this demonstration, Yoga Master Ginny Chien, from DAHN YOGA, will
show us how yoga and tai-chi can help us feel energized, balanced and wise (the yoga term for
stress free). This should be interesting and, to be hoped, beneficial for us in starting off the New
Year in a peaceful state of mind.

WINTER TOUR: ALLEY THEATER FEBRUARY 28, 2012
We will travel by Harris County bus to the Alley Theater to attend a matinee performance of
Chekov's "The Seagull" Following the matinee performance, lunch will be at The Spaghetti
Warehouse. Bus to leave the Clubhouse at 8:30 AM. Annette Kelly will need your check for $15 as
soon as possible

HRF Book Review

We are pleased to have Sylvia Thompson, writer, Texas historian and lecturer as our Feb.
reviewer. Apropos of 2011, Sylvia has chosen to review The Time it Never Rained by Emer
Kelton. This book was written in 1973 and tells the story of the 1950 drought in the Southwest and
its devastating impact on the ranching community. As always , we look forward to Sylvia’s visit
and hope you can join us on Thursday, Feb.26th . We meet at the HRF at 9:30 AM with the
program at 10:00 AM. If you are a member of the HRF we would welcome your visit, and you may
bring a non-resident guest. The cost is $6 and if you have any questions please call Joan Horner

Harris County WCID #116 Annual Directors Election
The Harris County Water Control & Improvement District No. 116 Annual Directors election (if
needed) will be held on Saturday, May 12th. Anyone wanting information on qualifications for or
other details about running for District Director this year should contact the General Manager,
Howard Jacobson at 281-583-0707 or the District's attorney, Regina Adams at 713-237-1221. The
deadline to file an application for place on the ballot is March 5, 2012, before 5:00 PM.
